Bisbee Senior Center group poses after "breaking the bank" at Casino del Sol, Tucson

This group from the Bisbee Senior Center enjoyed lunch and gambling at Tucson’s Casino del Sol on Wednesday, March 28. We left the Senior Center at 8am and enjoyed a comfortable, air-conditioned van ride to their destination. We left Tucson at 3pm and returned to the Bisbee Senior Center on Collins Avenue at 5pm. There were some communications problems this year, my Verizon phone was down and TMobile doesn’t have as much coverage in Bisbee. My resolution for 2012 — don’t break my IPhone again!

Ribbon Cutting for Sassy Transport at Bisbee Chamber of Commerce

Thanks to the Chamber staff, officers, members and volunteers for organizing Sassy Transport’s ribbon cutting ceremony at the Bisbee Chamber offices last Thursday. Participants, including Bisbee City Councilman Boyd Nicholl, inspected the Sassy Transport vehicle, enjoyed refreshments and brought their questions, enthusiasm and good wishes. I particularly appreciated the help of Chamber Director Nancy Jacobsen, who was simultaneously organizing the move of Chamber offices to the San Jose area.

In the video, Sandra explains that Sassy Transport is not technically a taxi, taxis must have the mileage meter. The unit is expensive and she opted to keep costs down and bypass the mileage meter. Instead, Sassy Transport is a “livery.”

Paul Freistedt wanted to enjoy dinner and drinks at the Inn at Castle Rock with guests from Tucson, without the hassle of assigning a designated driver. He called Sassy Transport to pick them up at his door and deliver them downtown, then to take everyone back at the end of the evening.
